Hi 👋🏽 I'm Setareh. I’m a digital journalist working at the crossroads of editorial, visuals, and audience. I’m currently a fellow at ProPublica, where I design visual investigative journalism and manage 14 partnering local newsrooms.
Before that, I worked on digital strategy for newsrooms and served as an audio producer for BuzzFeed’s news and culture podcast Reporting to You. I collaborated with The New Yorker, The Intercept, and Parse.ly, doing audience research on personalization and privacy. I also collaborated with The Wall Street Journal to create stories on emerging platforms for new and younger audiences.
At Parse.ly, I researched and wrote about how newsrooms should use analytics to build relationships with readers.
Back in the day, I served as the editor-in-chief of my university's newspaper, the FSView & Florida Flambeau. I graduated from New York University's Studio 20 💡 program, where I studied innovations in journalism.
